Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Kagel was born February 5, 1927. She was a loving mother and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.SURVIVORS: two sons: Alan W. Saltzman and wife Diana, and Thomas H. Saltzman and wife Becky; 3 brothers: Al Sims and wife Gloria, Jerry Sims, and Larry Sims and wife Tessie; 3 granddaughters: Tracy Ryan and husband Todd, Brandy Carbone and husband Stephen, and Wendy Saltzman; 2 great-granddaughters: Morgan Ryan and Danielle Carbone; 1 great-grandson: Nicholas Carbone. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her first husband: Harold Saltzman; her second husband: William Kagel; a brother: Grady Sims; and her daughter-in-law: Sharon Saltzman.
