He was a graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in chemical engineering. He was a former employee of Celanese. SURVIVORS: Father: Bill Hopkins of Pampa; 4 aunts: Betty Gray of Pampa, Mildred Cogdell and Betty Bishop, both of Sanger, and Martha Thorell & husband Carl of Whitesboro. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Hopkins.
