SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at the First Baptist Church of White Deer, with Rev. Alan Wilson, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Hughes was born April 8, 1934 in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. He owned and operated Hughes Welding for many years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of White Deer.SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters: Sharon Alford and Janie Simpson, both of Levelland. 2 Brothers: Wayne Hughes of Iowa Park, and Eddie Hughes of Pampa. 6 Grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren. 1 Stepson: Lynn Stark of White Deer. 2 Stepdaughters: Lanell Painter of Plainview and Laquita Pikin of Plano. He was preceded in death by a brother Willie Hughes, a sister Bertha Thomas, and a son Howard Dean Hughes, Jr.MEMORIALS: First Baptist Church, 411 S. Omohundro, White Deer, Texas 79097
