Don Kinder, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Miami, officiating.BURIAL: Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Smith was born May 7, 1940 in Borger. She was a 1958 graduate of Canadian High School. She had been a resident of Miami from 1942 until she moved to Amarillo in 2002. She married Joe Smith on April 4, 1992 in Miami. She was the business manager for the Miami Independent School District from 1975 until retiring in 2002. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Miami.SURVIVORS: Husband: Joe Smith of the home. 3 Daughters: Kathy Liedtke & husband Doug, and Charisse Topper, all of Amarillo, and Karin Kohler of Winslow, Arizona. 1 Son: Garrett Helton & wife Dee Ann of Guymon, Oklahoma. 1 Brother: Bill Hines & wife Betty of Vilas, Colorado. 8 Grandchildren: Tonya Henson of Pampa, Kassie Lemons, Tanner Lemons, Hope Bonner Smith, and Tyson Liedtke, all of Amarillo, Bea Drinnon of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Seth Kohler and Kari Kohler, both of Winslow, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raburn & Ruby Hines, and a son, Steve Helton in 1986.
