Archie Young

Archie Young, 66, died May 19, 2013 in Pampa.Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rick King, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Young was born April 13, 1947 in Beaver, Oklahoma. He graduated from Amarillo High School and received a full merit scholarship to McAllister College in Minnesota where he receives his Bachelor?s Degree in field geology. He married Mitzy Bryant on February 4, 1974 in Canyon. Archie had been a resident of Pampa since 1974. He was a founding member of The Fencewalker Band. Music was the love of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He loved his loyal friends and band mates. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Randy Young.Survivors include his wife, Mitzy Young of the home; a daughter, Robyn Sanders and husband Michael of Pampa; a son, Chuck Young and wife Cindy of Amarillo; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and close friend and brother, Rick King of Pampa.
