Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mary Lou was born March 27, 1936 in Erick, Oklahoma to Perry Morrison and Edna Belote Prescott. She was reared in Pampa and was also a longtime Lefors resident. Mary Lou took great pride and joy in raising her three children and being "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While raising her children, she worked as a hairdresser. After her children were grown, she worked at WalMart and PISD. She had such a sweet, kind spirit. She never met a stranger. Even in her last days of life, she continued to make new friends. When asked what best describes her, the family had these words come to mind: tough, determined, loved, courageous, friendly, kind-hearted, witty, funny and beautiful. She loved her little dog "Sam" dearly. He was a great comfort and companion to her. She loved to travel and looked forward to family gatherings where she showed her great cooking abilities. Mary Lou bestowed a wonderful Godly legacy to her family, for which they are forever grateful. "When she spoke, she said it kindly and she kept an eye on her household. Her children respect and bless her. Many women have done wonderful things, but you outclassed them all. The woman to be praised and admired is the one who feared God." Proverbs 31. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Edna and Noel Southern, and her father, Morrison Prescott. The family would like to express their thanks to Harrington Cancer Center, BSA Hospice, Acolade Home Health, Ware Living Center, and family and friends who loved and prayed for her. She is survived by her three children, Sabrina East and husband John of Pampa, David Winegeart and wife Lisa of Amarillo, and John Winegeart and wife Vicki of Lubbock, and their father, Earl Winegeart.
