Danny Brett Murray

Danny Brett Murray, 54, of Austin, died February 13, 2016 in Austin. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Miami, with Rev. Anthony Inman, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Murray was born January 12, 1962 in Amarillo. He played football for the Stinnett Rattlers, and was a graduate of Stinnett High School. Danny attended colleges in Commerce and Austin, for a degree in journalism. Since then, he had been working in journalism and had begun to pursue a career for the U. S. Postal service in Austin. Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Willard Eason; his brother, Jimmy Murray; and his grandparents, Vernon and Bell Willard, and Rube and Estelle Murray. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Jim and Polly Murray of Miami; his fiancée, Marshe Hairston of Austin; two sisters, Charlene Phillips and husband Gary, and Betty Holland and husband Mark, all of Borger; two brothers, Fred Evans and wife Tamara of Borger, and Jammy Murray and wife Stephanie of Miami; and a sister and two brothers from his mother’s side.
