Adan Torres-Mendez

Adan Torres-Mendez, 62, of Pampa passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at his home.

Vigil and Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.

Mass will be at 10:30 AM Friday, February 11, 2022 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with Father Luis Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Adan was born December 20, 1959 in Mexico. He moved to the United States at the early age of 15 to begin working. Adan moved to Pampa in 1982. On April 22, 1984 he married Eleuteria Hernandez in Mexico. Adan worked at the Phillips Refinery in Borger for a number of years, Crawford Roofing for several years, and B&B Solvent for 14 years. He also worked for Petco Petroleum for a few years before he retired in 2018. Adan was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his favorite dog “Buster”. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and traveling back to Mexico to visit his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odon Torres and Marcelina Mendez; brother, Gumercindo Torres.

Survivors include his wife, Eleuteria Torres; 5 daughters, Delma Torres of Pampa, Karen Miranda Torres and husband Margarito of Pampa, Yesenia Balderrama Torres and husband Jesus of Pampa, Tracy Torres and husband Chris Acosta of Corpus Christi, and Arcelia Torres of Pampa; 1 son, Ismael Torres of Pampa; 3 brothers, Filiberto Torres and wife Ernestina of Pampa, Luis Torres and wife Eleazar Bernal of Mexico, and Alfonso Torres and wife Victoria Avalos of Cleburne; 4 sisters, Maria Amescua and husband Manuel of New Mexico, Lidia Juarez and husband Carlos of Cleburne, Rosa Torres and husband Juan Martinez of Mexico, and Amelia Torres and husband Alvaro Banda of Mexico; 10 grandchildren, Kimberly, Jaime, Izan, Adamari, Aryviana, Edvyn, Abriella, Amila, Adan, and Madalai; a special friend, Jaime Soto; and numerous nieces and nephews.
