Alicia B. Heil, 86, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery with Frankie Lemons, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026 at the funeral home.

Alicia was born on June 3, 1939 in Pampa to Willie and Velma Ayer Heil. She attended school in Pampa, where she was a part of the volleyball team and lettered all three years that she played. Alicia graduated from Pampa High School in 1957. After graduating, Alicia went to work for the Gray County Tax Office as a deputy tax assessor for 42 years. After retirement Alicia played in recreational volleyball and softball leagues.

She enjoyed fishing and held the record for the biggest fish caught at Lake Sand Spur, an 11-pound bass. Alicia loved watching her favorite teams play, the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, Dallas Mavericks, and Boston Celtics. She was an avid supporter of the Pride of Pampa High School Band and volunteered as a chaperone on their trip to California to play in the Rose Bowl. She also enjoyed traveling and went to Branson and New England several times. Alicia was a lifelong member of the Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ where she taught children’s Sunday school and volunteered in the clothing room.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Velma Heil; one brother, Dannie Heil; maternal grandparents, Ewell and Ida Ayer; and paternal grandparents, Daniel and Rosie Heil.

She is survived by her brother, Walter Heil and wife Wilma of Amarillo; sister-in-law, Glenda Heil of Mesquite; three nieces, Lorie Foust and husband Mark, Stephanie Crutchner and husband Jim, and Sara Stroud and husband Jared; and several great-nieces and nephews.
