Alicia "Alice" Martinez

Alicia Maciel Martinez, 56, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Iglesia Nueva Vida Church with Pastor Pete Hernandez, Sr., pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Silverton Cemetery in Silverton under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Alice was born on April 30, 1965 in Lockney to Jose and Maria Maciel. She grew up in Silverton and graduated from Silverton High School in 1983. Alice then moved to Pampa in 1985. She worked for the Pampa Independent School District for 23 years, first as a substitute then as a secretary in the Special Education Department. Alice also worked as a caregiver for many years. She was member of Iglesia Nueva Vida Church, where she had served since 1996. Alice enjoyed going to Harvester Football games and Pampa High School Choir shows. She loved her community. Alice also enjoyed going to watch her grandkids play in the many sports they were involved in, spending time with family and friends, and movie nights at the theater with her girls. She will be remembered as a loving and selfless mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Maciel; and great-niece, Mia Elena-Rose Maciel.

She is survived by her 4 children, Amy Chaney and husband Jimmy of Pampa, Benny Martinez of Amarillo, Ashley Martinez of Lubbock, and Jeremy Martinez and wife Amber of Pampa; 6 siblings, Joe Maciel and wife Liz of Amarillo, Lillie Leal and husband Junior of Lockney, Rick Maciel and wife Lynette and Rosemary Conner and husband Guy, all of Pampa, Jane Murrell and Mary Ann Rowell and husband Will, all of Silverton; 11 grandchildren, Cade Chaney, Shea Johnson, Jaxon Chaney, Jasper Chaney, Kaydon Johnson, Koy Johnson, Kaleb Steadman, Ethan Martinez, Ayden Martinez, Aaron Martinez, and Braelyn Rodriguez; 2 great-grandchildren, Oliver Chaney and Bostyn Chaney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Iglesia Nueva Vida Church, 1200 S Sumner, Pampa, TX, 79065.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 7, 2021 and Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at 2005 Charles St, Pampa, TX, 79065.
