Aljean was born August 16, 1936, to Al and May Tanner in Bloomburg, Texas. On September 9, 1961, she married the love of her life, M.T. Harmon. They lived in Pampa, where she took over and ran the family drilling business at 23 years old, after her parents were killed in a plane crash. She became a well-known businesswoman around Pampa and in the drilling and oil industry.
She had two beautiful children, Monte Harmon and Madella Kerbo. Along with running a business, she was an amazing mother that would do just about anything for her children, or grandchildren as they came about. She had a love for animals of all kinds, and in her last years loved to sit at her kitchen table watching the birds and squirrels at her feeders. She also had an eye for jewelry and sparkles, always wearing beautiful jewelry and spoiling her girls with new pieces. Aljean’s sparkle will always be remembered.
She is survived by her son, Monte Harmon and wife Cassie of Perryton; daughter, Madella Kerbo and husband Kirk of Amarillo; granddaughters, Kirsten Gray and husband Beau, Kamber Richardson and husband Blayne, all of Amarillo; grandson, Grayson Burch of Clarendon; and great-grandson, Waylen Gray of Amarillo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, M.T. Harmon; great- granddaughter, Wrenley Gray; and her close friend, Terry Sullins.
