Amy Lucile “Cile” Taylor (Gordon), 77, of Pampa, passed away, September 22, 2022 in Amarillo.
Celebration of life memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Dr. Robert Taylor, her son, eulogizing & officiating her service. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, September 26, 2022 at the funeral home.
Cile will be available for viewing from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2022 and 8:00AM – 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Born March 19, 1945 in Pampa, Texas to Robert Franklin “Bob” Gordon and Wilma G. (Walsh) Gordon. Cile graduated from Pampa High School in 1963 and attended Oklahoma State University where she met her husband Harold W. Taylor. They were married on December 28, 1965 in Pampa, Texas. They made their home in Pampa where he she was a homemaker and an artist.
Harold and Cile were long-time members of Faith Bible Church in Pampa, Texas.
Cile’s artistic talents emerged at an early age with her first painting being of her horse Tinker Bell that her dad had given her years before. She went on to develop her skills and took classes under several local and nationally renowned artists. She began offering lessons professionally in the late 1970s both locally and nationally. Cile has had pieces of her work displayed at the White House and the Smithsonian in Washington DC, the Texas Governor’s Mansion, and the Texas Capital in the House of Representatives.
In addition to her love for painting and sharing her knowledge and skills with others through her lessons, Cile enjoyed going to the ranch with her husband. She was a long-time member of Pampa Fine Arts serving in various offices during her membership. She was also a member of the local Beta Sigma Phi chapter.
Cile was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Taylor of Pampa; parents, Robert Franklin “Bob” Gordon and Wilma G. (Walsh) Gordon of Pampa; father and mother-in-law, Harvey Taylor and Irene (Pope) Taylor of Midwest City, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Marguerite Ruth Jayne of Midwest City, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Laura Sue Pollard of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and her granddaughter Alice Marie Taylor of Pampa.
Cile is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Taylor and wife Anna of Pampa, Texas; son Michael Taylor of Pampa, Texas; grandson, Jonathan Taylor and wife Mikala of Pampa, Texas; granddaughter, Ashlei Hastings and husband Cameron of Canyon, Texas; granddaughter, Abigail Wilson and husband Dakota of Pampa, Texas, Texas; great-granddaughters, Annalei Wilson and JoLee Taylor of Pampa, Texas; and nephews Jeffrey and Christopher Pollard.
