Anne Stobbe

December 29, 1942 — October 6, 2020

Anne Stobbe, 77, of Pampa passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in Pampa.

Celebration of life services will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Joan Gaines, pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church of Amarillo, officiating.  Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.  Livestream will be available at https://www.carmichael-whatley.com/page/live-streaming.

Ms. Stobbe was born on December 29, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to Wilbur and Ruth Hartman Stobbe.  Anne graduated from Hiram College in Ohio and received a Master of Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh.  She was a librarian for 43 years working in Gary, Indiana, St. Joseph, Michigan, Amarillo and retiring from Lovett Memorial Library in Pampa as the Library Director.  Anne volunteered with BSA Hospice of the Southwest for 16 years and Gray Cares.  She was a longtime member of Amarillo Genealogical Society, Texas Library Association, American Library Association and was a past member of Altrusa.  She was a creative person who loved cooking, glassmaking, painting, pottery and her beloved cat, Taco.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul Wilbur Stobbe.

Anne is survived by a cousin, David Heinz of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and a friend, Terri Jolly of Amarillo.
