Antonio Mendez, 61, of Pampa, passed away at home, with his family close by on Monday, July 13, 2026.
Antonio Méndez, de 61 años y de Pampa, falleció en su casa, con su familia cerca, el lunes 13 de julio de 2026.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 20, 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Guadalupe Mayorga, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
La misa funeral se celebrará a las 11:00 de la mañana del lunes 20 de julio de 2026 en la iglesia católica de San Vicente de Paúl, con la reverenda Guadalupe Mayorga, párroco, oficiando. El entierro tendrá lugar en el cementerio Fairview bajo la dirección de Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM, Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.

Antonio was born on June 2, 1965, in Alaquines, San Luis Potosí, Mexico to Antonio and Guadalupe Mendez. He grew up and attended school in Mexico. Antonio would move to the United States in 1985 to join other family members in Pampa. While in Pampa, he would meet his soulmate, Lilia, and they would marry on December 30, 1989.
Antonio nació el 2 de junio de 1965 en Alaquines, San Luis Potosí, México, hijo de Antonio y Guadalupe Méndez. Creció y asistió a la escuela en México. Antonio se mudaría a Estados Unidos en 1985 para unirse a otros familiares en Pampa. Mientras estaba en Pampa, conoció a su alma gemela, Lilia, y se casaron el 30 de diciembre de 1989.
Antonio would enter the oil & gas industry where he worked for various outfits that included Patterson Drilling, Unit Drilling, among others. He worked hard for his family for several years before an accident would force him to retire. Antonio was a fun-loving man who loved to spend time with his family anytime he could. He also had jokester side to him as well where he always had practical jokes or humor he would share with whomever he was around. However, and most importantly, Antonio had a very caring and soft heart for others and who was always a joy to be around.
Antonio entró en la industria del petróleo y gas, donde trabajó para diversas empresas, entre ellas Patterson Drilling, Unit Drilling, entre otras. Trabajó duro por su familia durante varios años antes de que un accidente le obligara a jubilarse. Antonio era un hombre alegre que disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia siempre que podía. También tenía un lado bromista, donde siempre tenía bromas o humor que compartía con quien estuviera cerca. He was preceded in death by his parents; by a brother, Refugio Mendez; and by a brother-in-law Vidal Fuentes.

Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Lilia; sisters, Agapita Mendez and husband Sotero Villalon, Martina Silva and husband Salomon, Ramona Armendariz and husband Martin, Enriqueta Silva and husband Edilberto, and Yadira Hernandez and husband Gabriel; brothers, Silverio Mendez and wife Imelda Martinez, Manuel Mendez and wife Lety, and Fernando Mendez and wife Elvia; sisters-in-law, Rosa Elena Fuentes and husband Ventura Rodriguez, Esmeralda Fuentes and husband Joel Izaguirre, and Yayis Fuentes and husband Margarito Garcia; brothers-in-law, Polo Fuentes and wife Rosa, Juan Fuentes and wife Carmen, and Roman Fuentes and wife Tona; and by beloved nieces, nephews and god children.
Antonio deja en vida a su querida esposa, Lilia; hermanas, Agapita Méndez y su marido Sotero Villalon, Martina Silva y su marido Salomon, Ramona Armendariz y su marido Martín, Enriqueta Silva y su marido Edilberto, y Yadira Hernández y su marido Gabriel; hermanos, Silverio Méndez y su esposa Imelda Martínez, Manuel Mendez y su esposa Lety, y Fernando Méndez y su esposa Elvia; cuñadas, Rosa Elena Fuentes y su esposo Ventura Rodríguez, Esmeralda Fuentes y su esposo Joel Izaguirre, y Yayis Fuentes y su esposo Margarito García; cuñados, Polo Fuentes y su esposa Rosa, Juan Fuentes y su esposa Carmen, y Roman Fuentes y su esposa Tona y por queridos sobrinos, sobrinos y ahijados.
