Antonio Ortiz Soria, 78, of Pampa passed away Sunday October 17, 2021, in Booker.

Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Iglesia Cristiana Canaan with Pastor Francisco Luna officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Antonio was born on November 6, 1942, in Durango, Durango, Mexico, to Juan Antonio and Inez Soria. He grew up in Durango and attended schools there. After school, he met Francisca Soto, and the two were married on April 12, 1959. The couple had eight children together in Durango. Eventually, Antonio moved his family to Ciudad Juarez. There he and Francisca raised their children, while also working in agriculture.

In 1989, Antonio moved to Pampa to be closer to family. He worked as a brick layer and a landscaper. He loved to work on anyone’s yard that would let him. Antonio worked these two jobs until his retirement in 1996. In his spare time, he would continue working on his own yard and his family’s yards, make them as perfect as he possibly could. He also loved to play games with his friends and family. Nobody stood a chance against Antonio when playing dominoes. He was an active member at Iglesia Cristiana Canaan, often working as a greeter at the front door. He was a true gentleman who loved his family and will be missed by many.

Antonio is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Maria Torres; two sisters, Maria DeJesus Soria and Marta Aguilera; three brothers, Manuel Soria, Juan Soria, and Max Soria; daughter-in-law, Yesenia Soria; son-in-law, Felipe D’Jesus; two sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.

He is survived by his wife, Francisca of the home; two daughters, Maria E. Lopez of Pampa, and Alejandra Villagrana and husband Rogelio of Fort Worth; five sons, Sergio Soria and wife Vicky of Pampa, Jorge Soria and wife Teresa of Mexico City, Mexico, Paulin Soria of Pampa, Geraldo Soria and wife Lucy of Pampa, and Antonio Soria, Jr, and wife Joan Gray-Soria of Pampa; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family.
