Barbara Jean Carothers

Barbara Crossman Carothers, 96, of Granbury, formerly of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 in Granbury.

Services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor at Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Barbara was born on August 26, 1926 to Spence and Exa Crossman in Amarillo. She attended Pampa schools and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Barbara retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after almost 33 years. She married Fred J. Carothers on June 21, 1947 in Pampa. Barbara was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Pampa Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Spence and Exa Crossman; her husband, Fred J. Carothers; one brother, George Crossman; and one sister, Ann Crossman Green.

Barbara is survived by her nieces and nephews.
