Barbara Ann Craig, 71, of Pampa, passed away on July 26, 2026, in Pampa with her family by her side.
Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Kyle Ohsfeldt of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Roberts County Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Barbara was born on March 28, 1955, in Pampa to Frank and Vivian Craig. Barbara was a long-time resident of Pampa where she graduated and was a life-long resident. After graduating high school, she attended and graduated from Clarendon College.
Following her graduation, Barbara entered her long career as a librarian. She would work and retire at the City of Pampa’s Lovett Memorial Library after almost 40 years. Her librarian work and the pursuit of literacy to the public were very important to Barbara. She was very active in the Children's Reading Program where she helped support and tutor children with reading difficulties.
Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in the choir in her earlier years. She also enjoyed singing during her time at the Meredith Court. While at Meredith Court, she was fortunate to make many friends and receive amazing care from many of their providers, past and present.
Although Barbara did not have children of her own, she was a very dedicated and supportive aunt to all her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Barbara will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, friend, and who had a tender heart who cared for all those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by sister, Kathy Lynn Craig.
Barbara is survived by two brothers, Larry Craig and wife Melany, and Alan Craig and wife Cindy; three nieces, Jennifer Sizemore and husband Otis, Andrea Holley and husband Micheal, and Heather Cooper; four nephews, Derek Craig and wife Audrey, Charles Craig and wife Sarah, Hunter Craig and wife ToniRae, and Jacob Craig and wife Caitlyn; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend gratitude to all of the staff at Meredith Court and ExcelaCare Hospice for the loving care of Barbara.
