Barbara Ann "Barb" McDonald

Barbara Ann “Barb” McDonald, 68, of Lefors, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at her home.

A celebration for Barb’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Lefors with Pastor Matthew Honeycutt, senior pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Barb was born on January 7, 1958 in Borger to Albert Conatser and Dorothy Willis Conatser. She was raised in the Texas panhandle until her family moved to Colorado when she was 12. Barb graduated from Delta High School in 1976. She married Harry McDonald on November 12, 1997. In 2014, Barb purchased a home in Texas and began splitting time between her home in Colorado and her home in Texas. She enjoyed being close to her family in the area and being a part of the community in Lefors. Barb was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Lefors.

Barb was a gifted painter and seamstress. She enjoyed making things with her hands and expressing herself through art. Barb was also a talented cowgirl in her younger years and was often found helping wherever she could. She was also kind, generous, and compassionate. She listened without judging and helped without wanting anything in return. Barb had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. She loved her dog, Champ, dearly. Most importantly, Barb loved the Lord and spent a great deal of time sharing His love with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Dorothy Conatser; her daughter, Stacy Burns; and one sister, Rosetta Menapace.

She is survived by her husband, Harry McDonald; two sons, Justin Ryan and wife Mandy and Lee Ryan and wife Heather; six grandchildren, James Burns, Tyaler Burns, Katie Burns, Richie Ryan, Kendall Ryan, and Braden Ryan; two siblings, Vicki Hinchman and Robert Conatser; and numerous niece and nephews.
