Barbara was born July 12, 1933 to David and Annie Keehn. She graduated from Miami High School in 1951. In 1953, Barbara married C. Bailey Dodson in Miami. They celebrated 22 years of marriage before he passed away on March 14, 1975. Barbara worked in Miami at the First State Bank of Miami and Daugherty Insurance Company for over 10 years. On February 4, 1982, she married Mackie Ross in Elk City. While they lived in Elk City, she worked at Bank of Western Oklahoma for four years before they moved. Barbara and Mackie moved around to various communities over the years before they retired in Amarillo in 2012.

Barbara was a member of the First Christian Church of Miami for over 30 years and continued her church involvement in each of the towns she lived in. Barbara was strong in her faith and loved the Lord. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She enjoyed singing at weddings, funerals, church choirs, and the follies at Cow Calling.

Barbara loved life and had a kind and generous heart. She was a talker and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Barbara never met a stranger. Barbara was always genuine and uplifting with her words when she spoke. Her organizational and cleaning skills will be missed, she kept everything neat and in order. Barbara took on multiple names within the family such as Mom, Mother, Momma, Nana, and Gran. She spent a lot of time going to her grandchildren’s events, and she loved every minute of it. Barbara was proud of her family and loved each one with all of her heart. She will be missed by all who knew her.
