Betty was born on February 21, 1929 in Vernon to Cecil William and Hatti Brock Myatt. She was raised in and attended school in Pampa. Betty graduated from Pampa High School in 1947. After graduating, Betty went to work as a bookkeeper for Gene Hall and later for Damaris Holt. She also helped her sister, June, with the bookkeeping for K&K, Inc and would even help her daughter every quarter. Betty married Merle Bohlander on August 23, 1961 and they were together for 44 years until his passing in 2006.

Betty was full of life, she enjoyed going on her yearly birthday trip to Las Vegas, first with her five sisters and then with her daughter. She also enjoyed reading and gardening. Betty was very involved with the cancer society and volunteered to drive people to their treatments in Amarillo. When she was younger, she worked at the Friendly Men’s Store in downtown Pampa where she got to know several people. Betty loved people, especially babies. She was feisty and spent a great deal of time in her later years giving her caregivers a run for their money. Betty was a spit fire and loved just as fiercely as she lived. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Merle Bohlander; her parents, Cecil and Hatti Myatt; one daughter, Jerri Cole; one grandson, Jeremy Vincil Cole; and five siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Hunter and husband Roger of Amarillo; one grandson, Chris Wood and wife Tamara of Bothell, Washington; two great-grandsons, Alex and Ray Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
