Beverly Elaine Teague March 12, 1948 – May 11, 2026
Beverly Elaine Teague, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 78 years old.
Born Beverly Elaine Smithey on March 12, 1948, in Wolfe City, Texas, Beverly was raised in a home filled with hard work, love, and character. Her father, William Smithey, was a proud World War II veteran and dedicated farmer whose strength and service shaped the family deeply. Her mother, Lida Smithey, was a talented hairstylist who owned and operated her own beauty parlor, bringing beauty and warmth to everyone who walked through her door. Beverly exemplified these characteristics passed down from her parents of hard work and making everything around her beautiful.
On September 3, 1966, Beverly married the love of her life, Keith Lynn Teague, a devoted dentist who served his community with skill and care. Beverly and Keith wanted to raise their kids in a small town. In 1972, they moved from Dallas to Pampa with their young children. Together they built a beautiful life, raising a family and sharing over five decades of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Keith preceded her in death on September 18, 2017, and there is little doubt that their reunion in heaven will be a joyful one.
Beverly had a gift for making any space feel like home. Her passion for interior design meant that every room she touched reflected her creativity and thoughtful eye, while her love of cooking filled those same spaces with irresistible aromas and the kind of meals that brought people together around the table. She had a zest for life that showed up everywhere — on the golf course, on the tennis court, in her garden, and at the evening gathering with friends enjoying a fresh margarita to wind down a great day. She approached each of these pursuits with warmth and enthusiasm that she brought to everything she loved.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Shelli Tarpley, and son-in-law John Tarpley; her son, Ryan Teague, and daughter-in-law Julie Teague; four grandsons and two granddaughters who were the delight of her heart; and her sisters, Iwana Boggs and Martha Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Lynn Teague, and her parents, William and Lida Smithey.
Beverly Elaine Teague lived a life full of devotion, love, and enthusiasm for a gathering of friends and family. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
