Bill Branscum, 89, of Pampa, passed away on March 17, 2026, in Pampa.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Joel Osborne of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements and burial are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
Bill was born on February 20, 1937, in Konawa, Oklahoma to William and Beatrice Branscum. He grew up and finished school in Oklahoma. At the age of 19, he came to Pampa to join his brothers in the oilfield. He drove a truck for several years in the oil & gas industry before he started a new career as a welder for Cabot and Ingerson Rand. Bill would stay with Cabot for 20 years before he retired.
In 1957, Bill married Patricia Handcock and they shared 37 years before she preceded him in death. He would find companionship again when he met Dalene Eads and they too would spend several good years before she passed on February 27, 2025. Bill was a talented man who excelled and won an award for woodworking. Bill liked to visit and go out to eat dinner to socialize as much as he could. Above all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouses; two sisters; and four brothers.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Sherri Noble and husband David; grandchildren, Brook Noble and husband Tracy, and Keenan Noble; great-grandchildren, Kyria, Morgan, Wyatt, and Elliott; nephews, Randell Branscum and wife Carlene, and James Branscum and wife Melody; niece, Kathy Miller and husband Sammy; several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
