Blake Alexander Douglas Matthews, 23, of Amarillo passed away on August 28, 2020 in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor A.J. Taylor, pastor of New Horizon Community Fellowship Church, officiating. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Blake was born May 4, 1997 in Amarillo. He graduated from Pampa High School in 2015. While in high school he played football and was on the wrestling team, he had earned the fighting heart award in wrestling during his junior year. After graduation, he attended and graduated from Lincoln Tech in Grand Prairie with certifications in auto and diesel mechanics. Blake has lived in Amarillo for the past few years. He worked for Street Toyota for a year. He was currently working for Tyson Foods.
Blake enjoyed tinkering with cars at his Pappawl’s house with his dad and brothers. If he was not working on a car, he loved to hang out with his friends and family, playing video games, and paintballing. Blake collected all types of knives. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Geraldean Matthews, great great grandmother, Francis Arlene Matthews.
Survivors include his mother, Rosalin Middleton and husband Kris of Pampa; father, Marcus Matthews of Amarillo; a sister, Taylea Matthews of Pampa; 3 brothers, Tacoma Matthews and Dakota Matthews and wife Cheyenne all of Amarillo, and Justin Middleton of Pampa; grandparents, Lonnie and Robbie Matthews of Amarillo, Robert Adrian of Amarillo, and Sherry York of Kress; his favorite aunt, Leah Perry of Kress and many other aunts and uncles.
