Bobbi Johnson, 78, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026 in Pampa.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancok, pastor at Briarwood Church, officiating. A private burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Bobbi was born on December 31, 1947 in Webster, Massachusetts to Robert Bennett and Arlene Bottom Reilly. She married Alvin Dane Johnson on December 30, 1968 in Orlando, Florida. Bobbi was a devoted wife and happily followed Alvin where his career in the Navy took him. They lived in several states including Florida, Hawaii, California, and South Carolina. Bobbi took great care to make every place they lived into a loving home. In 1990, they settled in Pampa and made it their home. Bobbi was a member of the VFW Post 1657 Auxiliary, the Navy Wives Club Men RIV Park #240, the Navy Wives Club of America, and served in the Navy Ombudsman program.
Bobbi loved children and even operated an in-home daycare in several of the places they lived. She also enjoyed volunteering in the nursery at church and helping in the kitchen. However, there was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family, especially if she got to cook and bake for them. No matter what Bobbi was feeling she believed baking was always a good idea. She was famous for her baked goods and her ornery sense of humor.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bennett and Arlene Reilly; and her husband of 49 years, Alvin Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Donald Johnson of Pampa; her granddaughter, Shania Jones and husband John of South Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Ariel Johnson and Jack Jones; three siblings, Calvin Harbour and wife Jenny, Tony Bennett and wife Cindy, and Monika-Jo Moore and husband Robert; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Briarwood Church, 1800 W Harvester Ave Pampa, Texas, 79065 or to the VFW Post #1657, 105 S Cuyler St, Pampa, Texas, 79065.
