Bobby Carr Husted

Bobby Carr Husted, 82, of Irving, passed away August 15, 2020, in Irving.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa with Gene Stewart, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Bobby was born on August 10, 1938, in Pampa to Marion and Bertha Mackie Husted.  Bobby met the love of his life, Shirley Quirk, in the first grade. They graduated together from Groom High School and then married on June 7, 1958.

During their 62-year marriage, they welcomed friends into their homes in Amarillo, Saginaw, Longview, and Irving. They attended countless ball games of their daughters and their teammates who they loved as their own and then enjoyed grandkids’ games in the heat, cold, wind, and rain on many a hard bleacher seat. 

Bobby shared his kind heart with his church family and most particularly enjoyed visitation.

Bobby spent over 35 years working for Trinity Industries where he made a tremendous positive impact on everyone around him. After retirement, he continued those relationships by co-founding the Trinity PrimeTimers where they shared lunch and fellowship.  Bobby also took great pride in his volunteer work at Irving Cares.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Shirley, and their three daughters and their spouses: Shari and Robert Mallory, Lori and Zane Weiss, Carla and Gene Stewart; their grandchildren: Wesley Weiss, Cody Weiss and his wife Sarah, Geoffrey Weiss and his wife Reagan, Dustin Mallory and his fiancée Emily Brooks, and Clayton, Sydney and Griffin Stewart, and their great grandson, Jaxson Weiss. 

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and dear brother, Leonard.
