Brenda Faye Barber, 83, of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025 in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 24, 2025 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, and Chaplain Stuart Smith, chaplain of Enhabit Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Brenda was born August 19, 1942 in Waco, Texas to Collin and Vernell Elliott. She attended Austin High School in El Paso. On February 11, 1959, she married Sam Barber, they were married for 24 years before they went their separate ways. Together they had 3 children, Jean, Samuel Mark, and Robbie. They lived in Phoenix until 1975 when they moved to El Paso.

Brenda was a caretaker for their youngest son, Robbie. He passed away in January of 1979. After his passing, she went to work for Rockwell Company assembling electronics. She later retired from there due to some health issues.

In 2012, she moved to Pampa to be closer to her children. Brenda loved the Lord and was very involved in her church in Phoenix. She was a member of the Sunshine ChoralAires for many years. Brenda also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

Brenda was onery and full of life. She had a strong personality and could be stern at times, but she also had a loving heart. Brenda was proud of her family and loved them dearly. She always supported her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brenda tried to be at all the events she was able to.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robbie Barber; two brothers, Jerry Elliott and Spencer Elliott.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean Murray of Pampa; son, Samuel Mark Barber and wife Stephanie of Owasso, Oklahoma; she was known as “Grandma” to her four grandchildren, Ashlee Murden and husband Mark of Lubbock, Aaron Hunt and wife Bridgett of Lefors, Mark Anthony Barber and Samantha Barber both of Owasso, Oklahoma; two great grandchildren, Kade Parks and Landry Hunt.
