Buddy Thomas Rist

Buddy Thomas Rist, 51, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in Amarillo.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Buddy was born on March 17, 1973 in Orange, California to Linda Christopherson and Richard Leevan. He was raised in California and attended school there. Buddy met Dawnette in 2003 and started dating on July 30, 2003. They welcomed their daughter, Summer, into their family in 2004. While living in California, Buddy stayed home to take care of Summer and acted as her full-time caregiver while Dawnette worked. In May of 2020, their family moved to Pampa and Buddy began working at Flipz as a cook. Buddy and Dawnette were married on December 31, 2023 in Pampa. He enjoyed watching Nascar and spending every moment he could with his family. Buddy will be forever missed by those that loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Christopherson.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Dawnette of the home; three children, Summer Rist and Amber Jobe, both of Pampa, and Thelma Rist of California; four sisters, Ricki Rist, Reanna Leevan, and Sara King, all of California, and Wendy Giles of Washington; four grandchildren, Kali Shepard, Hailey Grubb, Layla Grubb, and Joseph Jobe; and four nephews, Dillon Wyatt, Jeramey Wyatt, Michael Wyatt, and Michael Giles.
