Catherine Schellon Major

Catherine Schellon Major, 67, of Silsbee died Sunday, June 1, 2025. She was born on July 4, 1957, in Groom, to Willie Mae Britten Barnett and Jack Harris Barnett.

Survivors include her husband, Del Major; children, Holly Morris and her husband, Jarrod, of Silsbee; Lacy Elliott and her husband, Scott, of Katy; and Matthew Major and his wife, Jenny, of Cypress; grandchildren, Matsyn Morris, Haegyn Morris, Hudsyn Morris, Michael Elliott, Laiken Elliott, Waverly Elliott, Atlas Elliott, Falynn Elliott, Brody Major, and Wyatt Major; siblings, Sharon Britten and her husband, Gary, of Groom; Jackie Barnett and Randi Croucher, of Perrin; Shelley Britten and her husband, David, of Groom; and Suni Morton and her husband, James, of Eastland; and several nieces and nephews that meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Major’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 411 Ware Ave, Groom. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Her interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Groom, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
