Darrell Eldon “Wop” Marsh, 82, formerly of Pampa, passed away on February 16, 2018 in Palestine.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Mike Watson, pastor of Hobart Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Marsh was born April 9, 1935 in Ackerly, Texas to John L. and Oreatha R. Marsh. He was a long time Pampa resident moving from California in 1940. Darrell worked in the oilfield as a pumper for Deminex Oil Company and Excel Productions, retiring in 1987. He loved fishing with his sons, watching old westerns and he never missed a Dallas Cowboys game. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Herbert Marsh and Weldon Marsh, a sister Charlotte Streetman, his first wife Norene Marsh, second wife Mary Marsh, a son and daughter in law Mike & Linda Marsh, and a granddaughter Amy Youree.
Survivors include his son; Rick Marsh and wife Kay of Palestine; daughter, Melody Youree and husband Doug of Pampa; four grandsons, Jason Marsh and Kevin Youree both of Pampa, Brian Marsh and wife Crystal of Kansas City, Missouri, and Travis Marsh and wife Hannah of Robinson; three great granddaughters, Kaleigh Marsh of Pampa, J’Leigh Rae Marsh of Robinson, and Hattie Jo Marsh of Kansas City, Missouri; four great grandsons, Tylen Marsh of Yuma, Arizona, Braedon & Cayden Marsh of Palestine, and Brantley Marsh of Robinson; one step grandson Reese Talley and wife Hillary of Crowley; one step granddaughter, Trinidee Chambers and husband Kevin of Panhandle; a step great grandson, Ryan Chambers, a step great granddaughter Callie Chambers both of Panhandle.
