David Ray Hemphill

David Ray Hemphill passed away peacefully to his Heaven home to be with Jesus and the love of his life, Sandy, on May 24, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

David loved his four children and all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved watching sports on TV, any team that was from Texas or Oklahoma. After being a truck driver for over fifty years, he loved traveling and seeing family. His family all loved hearing his old trucker stories and the way he told them, living up to his old CB handle- Slow Talker. He taught his children how to drive, that it’s ok to show emotion and be sensitive, how to be patient, and that education is so important. He always knew how to fix things around the house and how to get somewhere without a map.

David was preceded in death by his brother and sisters, Roy, Ruth, and Evelyn, his wife, Sandy, and his parents, Elmer and Ada.

He leaves behind his children and their spouses, David Randell and Terri of Houston, Texas, Julie of Arcadia, Oklahoma, Melissa and Steven of Pampa, Texas, and Shantillee and Clay of Pampa, Texas, and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren that all loved him very much and will miss him.
