David was born on June 5, 1947 in Ferdinand, Indiana to Alvin and Ardella Petry. David was the sixth of eleven children growing up and attending school in Ferdinand. He had many fond memories of his family and growing up in Indiana.

He also made furniture in his free time. David loved fishing in the lakes in and around Kalispell, MT, where he spent most of his life. David loved hunting in Montana’s woods and riding his bicycle. He loved his immediate family with all his heart and would do anything for them, and he longed to be closer to his family that lived abroad.
He was an avid church-goer and passionate about his Catholic faith.
David was a wonderful father, father-in-law, grandfather aka ‘opa’ to his German grandchild, brother and friend.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends but will live on in their hearts and never be forgotten.
