DL Shipley, Jr.

DL Shipley, Jr., 60, of Pampa, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 20, 2024.

A celebration of life service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Hector Leal, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel and Crematory. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

DL was born on September 17, 1964, to Donnie, Sr. and Andrea Shipley in Pampa. DL attended Pampa schools and was a life-long resident. After finishing school, he entered the work force. DL was a multi-talented man who worked in several occupations and industries that include being a carpet-tech, pest control technician, commercial truck driver, owned and operated his own hamburger restaurant, Daks, and had a stint in the oil & gas industry. 

DL would meet his soulmate Becky on May 5, 2010 and they married on April 13, 2019 and they shared 14 beautiful years before his illness and passing. DL loved to do magic tricks with kids, always enjoyed the opportunity to go fishing, and he especially relished cooking, BBQing, and hosting all of his family and friends. He was ornery but an authentic man who could visit with anyone, and he never met a stranger. Above all, he wanted others to be happy and feel good when he was around. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an aunt, Judy “Ju Ju” Haynes; and by a sister, Carolyn White.

DL is survived by his wife Becky Shipley; three daughters, Tiffany Pearson and husband Michael of Rockport, Ashtyn Shipley of Aransas Pass, and Raven Russell and husband Jared of Aransas Pass; son, Casey Evans and wife Krista of Midland; stepsons, Joel Cummings, and Austin Cummings and wife Alexis, all of Pampa; grandchildren, Kathryn, Britton, Mason, Sky, Blisse, Easton, Delani, Kinslee, Jonas, and Jonathan; stepsisters, Kristie Fuller, and Kendra Henderson, both of Pampa; several cousins and other extended family members.
