Donald Glen Williamson

Donald Glen Williamson, 94, of Pampa entered Heaven on September 16, 2026 surrounded by family. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints”, Psalm 116:15.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 21, 2026 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson officiating. A private family burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 20, 2026 from 6:00-7:30 PM.

He was born June 21, 1932 to Lawrence Wesley and Carrie Bell Crosby Williamson in Choudrant, Louisiana. Don grew up in North Louisiana, graduating from Ruston High School at the age of 15. He received an accounting degree from Louisiana Tech University. He was then drafted by the United States Army and served in Washington D.C. Following his military service, Don was employed by Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation in Shreveport and Houston for whom he worked his entire career. Don met Eddie Jo Conlay in Shreveport, Louisiana, and they married on August 9, 1957. They were blessed with two sons whom they raised to love the Lord. Don enjoyed fishing, especially with his brothers and his sons when they were young. Upon retiring at age 57, he rekindled his love for golf and enjoyed many memorable rounds with friends. Throughout his entire adulthood, he had a continual drive to grow the best tomatoes. His family and friends can attest that he was successful in his efforts to grow the best tasting tomatoes. He was an avid baseball fan, especially following the highs and lows of his beloved Houston Astros, as well as Texas A&M and Dallas Baptist baseball teams, and his great grandchildren’s Optimist teams.

Don was a committed follower of Jesus. He began every day with time in prayer and Bible study. He served for many years as a Deacon, children’s Sunday School teacher, and was actively involved in hospital visitation ministry for his church, as well as numerous other roles of service and leadership. In 2023, he and his wife Eddie Jo relocated from College Station to Pampa. She passed away in 2023, after 66 years of marriage. Papaw loved his five granddaughters and one grandson and was proud to follow their activities and successes. He enjoyed the last few years being able to spend time with his great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his grandson Cole Murray Williamson, and is also preceded in death by his brothers and sister to whom he was very close, Wayne, Bobby, Jimmy (Tip), and Joyce (Sis).

He is survived by his sons Keith Williamson and wife Kim of College Station and Pastor Byron Williamson and wife Jana of Pampa and grandchildren, Ashley Oglesby and husband Chris of Pampa, Bethany Davis and husband Tanner of Pampa, Kendall Renard and husband Stephen of Austin, Kirby Crenwelge and husband Luke of Spring, Colby Williamson and wife Beth of Cedar Hill, Kellie Diamond and husband Noah of Bryan. Great-grandchildren Ellie Oglesby, Preston Oglesby, Emmie Oglesby, Peter Oglesby, Marcus Williamson, Patton Oglesby, Tess Joy Williamson, and soon-to-be Baby Boy Crenwelge.
