Donna Smith

Donna Smith, 68, of Miami, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025 in Pampa.

Memorial services will be at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Miami Methodist Church with Rev. Wesley Holland, retired minister, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Donna was born on March 16, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joe Bill and Pauline Maude Silvia Hamm. She was raised in Cleveland and attended school there. After having her daughter, Anita, she went back to school and earned her GED. She worked as a factory supervisor for over 20 years where she was constantly learning new skills. In 1977, Donna met Gary Smith. They spent 20 years together before parting ways in 1998. Later that year, Donna moved to Miami to be closer to her daughter.

Donna enjoyed putting together puzzles, playing games, and reading. She also collected porcelain dolls and figurines. Donna was especially interested in all things fantasy and magic, several of her porcelain figurines included unicorns and fairies. She was very proud of her Native American heritage and enjoyed telling stories about her family’s history. Donna was a staunch democrat, but as time went on and the politics changed, she became a late in life republican. Donna loved her family deeply and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Pauline Hamm.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Anita Carlisle of Pampa; three grandchildren, Dyanna Carlisle, Martina Kerns, and Richard Kerns all of Pampa; one great-grandchild, Emma Smith; six siblings, Patrice Astacio, Kenneth Hamm, James Hamm, Paola Tyacke, Rex Anthony, and Richard Hamm; and numerous nieces and nephews.
