Frances Lou Ree “Lou” Lyle, 94, of Pampa, passed away on November 29, 2025, in McLean.
Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow that afternoon at 3:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
Lou will be available for viewing from 2:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday and at 8:00 AM- 8:00 PM, on Thursday.
Lou was born on September 11, 1931, in Tulia to Floyd and Alta Campbell. She grew up and graduated in Tulia. Following high school, Lou moved to Amarillo to attend college to pursue a career as a dental assistant. While in Amarillo, she met her true love, Dr. Bob Lyle, and they later married on August 5, 1952. Lou would work as a dental assistant to help Bob through dental school. Thereafter, they would have three loving children, Debbie, Michael, and Clay. Lou and family would live in Frisco in the early 60’s until they moved to Pampa in 1965. Dr. Lyle would precede her in death in 2013.
Once in Pampa, Lou would focus on being a loving wife and mother. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she cherished hosting holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. In her younger years, she liked volunteering at the local hospital, being a member of Junior Service League, and being a part of a Bridge Club. Lou was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she volunteered for the meal committee and taught Sunday school. Lou will be remembered as a hardworking Christian woman who put her family and Lord first.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael Lyle; sister, Betty Green; and a nephew, Ronnie Green.
Lou is survived by her daughter, Debbie Stewart and husband John of Odessa; son, Clay Lyle and wife Stephanie of Manassas, Virginia; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephew; cousins; and several lifelong friends, Barbara Nichols, Susan Dunigan, Helen Burns, and Judy Taylor.
