George “Glen” Eggleston, 61, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on May 11, 2026.
Celebration of life services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel. A private inurnment to put Glen to rest will take place at Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, at the funeral home.
Glen will be available for public viewing from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, on Thursday at the funeral home.
Glen was born on January 29, 1965, in Pampa, Texas, to George Eggleston and Carol Eggleston. He grew up in Pampa and attended Pampa High School before continuing his education at Frank Phillips College.
As a Christian, Glen was outspoken about his faith and formed by his unique beliefs and values. He was a man of grit and determination, known for his toughness, persistence, and unwavering spirit. He never gave up on anything he believed in.
Glen spent much of his life doing what he loved most—rodeo. As a bareback rider for many years, he developed a lifelong love for horses and the rodeo lifestyle that defined so much of who he was.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents George and Carol Eggleston, and brother-in-law, Rodney Fortenberry.
He is survived by his two sons, Gavin Eggleston and wife Julie of Columbus, Georgia and Garrett Eggleston and wife Lindsey of Amarillo, Texas. He was a grandfather to four grandchildren: Gunner and Joy Eggleston of Columbus, Georgia, and Elsie and Evie Eggleston of Amarillo, Texas.
He is also survived by his sisters, Debbie Dixon and husband Robert of Pampa, Texas, Sherri Fortenberry of Pampa, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Glen will be remembered for his strength and resilience, his passion for rodeo, and his tenacious spirit. His legacy lives on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
