George Kilcrease, Jr.

George Kilcrease, Jr., 91 of Pampa, passed away on September 3, 2026, in Amarillo with his family by his side.

Services for George will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Rushing, a retired Baptist minister, officiating, and Rev. James Greer, pastor, assisting. Burial will follow in Mobeetie Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

George was a patriotic man and the family invites friends to wear their favorite red, white, and blue shirts in honor of George and our country.

George will be available for viewing from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, on Tuesday at the funeral home. And the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born on October 25, 1934, in Pampa to Hazel and George Kilcrease, Sr. He grew up and finished school in Mobeetie. During high school, he married his high school sweetheart, Marie Scribner on January 9, 1954. They shared over 66 years and four children before her passing. Following his marriage, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving and was stationed in Newark, New Jersey. After his discharge, he would return back to Texas.

He worked in the oil & gas industry for a few years that took him to Odessa. Eventually he came back to the Panhandle to help with his parents and their family business. George would take over the business and operate it for over 30 years before his retirement. He couldn’t stay still, so he would enter into the textile business, owning and operating Hi-Style Fabrics for another 15 years. Once again, his entrepreneurial and hardworking spirit came back when he opened Hi-Tech Interiors and the Promised Land Park Models.

George was a highly social man who loved to be at the coffee and donut shops to make many friends and connections. He could always be found to bring donuts throughout the town. George always made deep and lasting relationships. What was the most important thing in his life was his family and friends and would do anything he could to help them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; granddaughter, Samantha Klause; three sisters, Ruth Meyer, Violis Harmon, and Betty York; son-in-law, Keith Oliphant; multiple brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

George is survived by four children, Melody Oliphant of Pampa, Jacque Heasley and husband Sam of Greenbriar, Arkansas, Rusty Kilcrease and wife Debbie of Pampa, and Princess Clement and husband Eddie of Canyon; 11 grandchildren, Christy Allison and husband Brad, Cory Oliphant and wife Tiffany, Josh Gobin and wife Erin, Michelle McMillan and husband Phil, Kellye Jasper and husband Sam, Amanda Tiedt and husband Anthony, Katie Haukebo and husband Sepp, Lacy Allen and husband Blaine, Jessica Madrid and husband Orlando, Jennifer Williams and husband Shane, and Lowry Baggett; sister-in-law, Dutch Elliott of Pampa; a brother-in-law, Archie Jean Scribner and wife Judy of Dumas; 29 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
