Glenna Jaye Smith

Glenna Jaye Smith, 81, of Pampa, Texas, passed on from this life on Friday, June 19, 2025.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Glenna was born on September 13, 1943, in Winters, Texas to Al and Glenna Henley. She grew up and attended school in Winters, after school she stayed in Winters until she eventually married John Daniel “Danny” Smith on June 17, 1974, in Ballinger, Texas. The two moved to Odessa for a short time for Danny’s job in the oilfield. After leaving Odessa, they moved to Pampa in 1978 also for Danny’s oilfield job.

Glenna worked as an insurance agent for American National Insurance in Pampa until she retired in the early 2000’s. Outside of work, Glenna enjoyed watching Hope Floats and old westerns with Danny. She was a huge animal lover and especially loved her dogs dearly, she also enjoyed canning. Glenna was a strong-willed woman who knew what she wanted and would get it, some would even say she was feisty.

Glenna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Albert Hilton Brown.

Glenna is survived by a son, Justin Smith and wife Alisha of Huffman, TX; three grandchildren, Coleten, Landen, and Brayden; a brother-in-law, David Smith and daughter Kayleen of Woodward, OK.
