Glynn Lusk, 83 of Pampa, passed away on May 1, 2024, in Canadian, TX.

 

Memorial service will be 11:00 am, Monday, May 6, 2024, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel at with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church in Pampa, officiating. A private family entombment will be held at Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

 

Glynn Warren Lusk was born October 30, 1940, in Haskell, TX, to Thurman and Wynona (Johnson) Lusk. He was raised in Haskell, until the 9th grade when he moved to Plainview and graduated with the Class of 1959. Glynn attended and graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1963. That same year he married Sharon Riley and to that union was born Robert Lusk and Steven Lusk. In October 1980, Glynn Married Anne Hinton in Pampa. Anne’s children are Matt Hinton, Ross Hinton and Holly Hinton Sheridan.

 

In 1964, Glynn entered the United States Army and rose to the rank of Captain, having promoted to the US Army Ordinance Guided Missile School at Redstone Arsenal, Al, where he served as 1st Lt. Commander of Company B School Troop Command. In 1967, Glynn left the uniformed services to work as a Dynamics Engineer for Brown-Teledyne at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, leaving in 1971 to become a self-employed rancher in Canadian, until 1978. From 1978 until 1999 Glynn enjoyed working in oil and gas in the Texas Panhandle, New Mexico, and the Permian Basin, serving as a Production Supervisor for Diamond Shamrock and its successor companies. From 1999 until retirement, Glynn worked as a consultant in oil and gas production, completions, and workovers. Glynn’s life was his work.

 

Glynn was a longtime member of Pampa’s First Baptist Church, working in the 2-year-old department for over 40 years. Glynn’s main hobbies were golf and watching any sport.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a baby sister, Sharon Lusk.

 

Glynn is survived by his wife, Anne Lusk of the home in Pampa; his sons, Bob Lusk and wife Melanie of Canadian, Steve Lusk and wife Amy of Ponca City, OK, Matt Hinton and wife Katherine of Pampa, and Ross Hinton of Pampa; daughter, Holly Sheridan and husband Kevin of Needville, TX; sister, Jean Lindemann and husband Kenneth of Amarillo; one niece, one nephew and numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
