Greg Lee, 63, Pampa Fire Chief, of Pampa passed away on August 30, 2021.

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 3, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Pampa with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery in Lubbock. The funeral service will be live streamed through the funeral home website. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Greg was born February 13, 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Jerry and Peggy Lee. He graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock in 1976. Greg began his career in fire service in 1977 at the age of 19 with the Lubbock Fire Department. He obtained his associate degree in Fire Service while he continued to work. Greg served the City of Lubbock for over 30 years retiring in 2008. During his time there, he served as District Chief from 1995 until 2008. After his retirement he began his own company, ESA Environmental Specialist, it is during this time he had a contract with the US Government and was involved in the Pentagon restoration. Greg also deployed to the BP Oil spill. From 2012 until 2016 he served as Chief of Federal Search and Rescue Task Force for FEMA and Homeland Security. In 2016, Greg accepted the position as Pampa Fire Chief, and has served faithfully. He earned several accolades such as Certified Emergency Management, Executive Fire Officer from the National Fire Academy, and Head of Department Suppression and Prevention from Texas Commission on Fire Prevention. Over the years he has had the opportunity to teach many young fire fighters and make lifelong relationships with his brothers.

Greg married Linda Cain on March 9, 1986 in Las Vegas. He was a devoted husband, father, and Pop to his family. Greg as an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time at the gun range, smoking good cigars, and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed reading, studying history, and was strong in his faith. His sense of humor and practical jokes was a big part of his personality. He was very proud of his department and those who served with him.

Greg is preceded in death by his father, and a very special Brandon Lee.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; mother, Peggy Lee of Lubbock; 4 daughters, Lacey Lee of Pampa, Kelly Griffin and husband Tim of Azle, Kimberly Meixner and husband Michael of McKinney, and Krissy Ward and husband Monty of Allen; 2 brothers, David Lee and wife Patricia of Miami, Florida and Joel Lee and wife Kimmie of Lubbock; sister, Reha Lee Lopez of Austin; grandchildren, Rance, Lauren, Alexa, Tiffany, Jake, Colby, and Knox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
