Harold Craig Horton, 18, of Pampa, passed away on April 19, 2022 in Pampa.
Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, April 25, 2022 at Briarwood Church with Pastor Erron Mercer of Cornerstone church of Wheeler, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Harold was born on May 20, 2003 in Childress to Zonia and Darryl Horton. As a young boy, his family moved to Pampa where he grew up, attended school, and graduated from Pampa High School in 2021. After high school, Harold entered the workforce and he worked for Cabot, Toot N’ Totum, and Wal-Mart.
Harold was a very kind loving sweetheart. He was very passionate about making the moment enjoyable. He was an “in the moment” type of person. He never got in a hurry to do things. Harold was a particular person and knew what he needed. He had such a gentle appearance but was never afraid to speak his mind.
You wouldn’t ever expect his sense of humor, but with no doubt he would have your stomach aching from all the laughing. He was so brave and strong, he made sure to always protect himself and others. Harold loved to be around people and never turned down an invite. He was curious and loved to visit and listen. Harold was incredibly smart, always asking tons of questions about every little thing, because he liked obtaining information.
Harold loved the Colts, that was his favorite football team. Although he did like most all sports. He’s always been the type to try hard and want to win. Harold has played football, baseball, basketball, and wrestled. In fact, growing up he was a huge fan of WWE and loved watching every show. He liked to play video games with his friends. He LOVED music. He was always asking for the aux to play a new song he’s been listening to. He liked to listen to the rappers who were not as big- so he liked seeing artists make it. In a way He cheered for the underdogs and was very encouraging.
Harold was just a very unique, lovable, and essential person. I’m grateful that we each have so many good memories to remember him by. The laughs and gentle hugs that he gave will live on forever, as will his loving spirit.
Although Harold’s life was short, he impacted every one of us for the better. There are not enough words to sum up Harold. But there is enough love to spread, as he would have wanted.
He was preceded in death by three grandparents.
Harold’s survivors include his parents, Zonia and Darryl Horton of the home; his siblings, Copper Horton and Darryl Horton, both of Pampa, Heather Horton and Hayden Horton, both of Troy; grandmother, Janet McClellan of Wheeler; special cousin, Jason Horton of Austin; and by his best friend, Gabriel Slater of Pampa; and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family
