Harvey Jean Malone

October 30, 1930 — September 6, 2022

Harvey Jean Malone, Sr., 91, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor at Central Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Harvey Jean Malone was born in Hillsboro, Texas on October 13, 1930 to James and Carry Malone, the youngest of eleven children. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force in San Antonio and was on active duty during the Korean War. He met Elizabeth Lindsay and married in 1954.  Elizabeth preceded him in death in 2013.

Harvey was a kind, loving man, and he loved motorcycles, all motorcycles. He rode from 1938 until 2018. Eighty years and a few million miles later, Alzheimer’s made him hand in the keys.

He loved people, all people. Everywhere he rode and everywhere he didn’t, people spoke of his kindness and compassion. Harvey attended motorcycle rallies and served people, young and old through his church. He served as deacon at Central Baptist Church and the church members were a solid foundation in his life. He helped many people there and many, many more helped him.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; ten siblings; and his granddaughter, Mackenzie Malone Linsey.

He is survived by his son Harvey “Buck” Malone, Jr. and his wife Cara Cornell Malone; his grandchildren, Jake Malone and wife Sarah Erickson of Denmark, Candice Malone of Ithaca, New York, and Cassidy Malone of Madison, Wisconsin; grandson-in-law, Philip Linsey, and great-grandson Tyler Linsey of Austin.
