Paul Eakin, 86, of White Deer, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at home.

Vigil and Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in White Deer with Rev. Hrudaya Raju Kondamudi, pastor, of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Eakin was born on August 14, 1935 in Pampa, to LP and Frances (Gordzelik) Eakin. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1954. Paul met the love of his life in Oklahoma City, Linn Davis, and they were married on February 4, 1963, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in White Deer. She preceded him in death January 10, 2013.

He was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council and looked forward to the annual Polish Sausage Dinner. Paul proudly served on the Grandview Hopkins School Board for 19 years and enjoyed being a Square Dance Caller at the annual barn dance. He was a farmer his entire life and his favorite time of the year was wheat harvest. Paul also insisted on taking the last load to the elevator. He was also in the cattle business for many years until his retirement in 2012.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, LP and Frances Eakin; a sister, Mary Eakin; a brother, Jim Eakin; and a son, Shane Eakin.

Survivors include his two sons, Dane Eakin and wife Shelley and Darrin Eakin and wife Cindy all of Amarillo; his two daughters, Donna Eakin of White Deer, and Amy Koelzer and husband Vince of Wheeler; three grandsons, Jordan Eakin of El Paso, Ethan Eakin of Pampa, and Hunter Koelzer of Wheeler; three great-granddaughters, Jocelynn Eakin, Peyton Eakin, and Arizona Eakin all of Sundown. As well as his fur babies Snickers and Boots, who kept him entertained the past several years.

The family would like to thank Gregory Rapstine for his care and visits over the last several months as well as bringing Paul communion. The family would also like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Interim Hospice, especially Kimberly, Brenda, Dusty, Gail, Ann, and Penny.
