Isaac Silva

January 3, 1959 — February 6, 2021

Isaias “Isaac” Silva, 62, of Pampa, passed away, February 6, 2021 in Amarillo.

Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana, 1541 Hamilton St. with Pastor Norman Rushing of Central Baptist Church, officiating and with his father, Pastor Heliodoro Silva of Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana, assisting. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The service will be live streamed through the funeral home website.

Isaac was born on January 3, 1959 to Gudelia and Heliodoro Silva in Galeana, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. As a young boy he and his family resided in Monterrey, Mexico. His father would later get the opportunity to pastor a church in Bovina, so the family moved to the United States. A time later they would relocate to Pampa where he would attend Pampa schools and graduate from the class of ’78. After graduating high school, he enrolled at TSTI and later earned his degree. Isaac met the love of his life, Cherisha Ferguson and they later married on February 9, 2002 in Pampa. One of his crowing achievements was helping his dad and brothers build the church that his dad preaches at.  It was in this church that he helped lead worship, taught the youth group, and would preach when given the chance.  He always geared his sermons toward children since he was one at heart.  Isaac worked in the grocery business starting at 14 years of age and his career spanned over 40 years and he met many good people working at Furr’s, Albertson’s, United, and managing Top Value until his passing.

Isaac was kind, generous, and full of light.  His laugh was warm and unique – just like him. He always had a smile on his face, and he showed Christ’s love to everyone he met in a way that made them feel important and safe.  His most prized possession was his family.  He enjoyed being in the House of God, feeding his goats, taking naps, and spending time with his family.  He was a devout Dallas Cowboys fan – at the end of each year he vowed that next year they would make it to the Super Bowl.  Life without Isaac will not be as fun, but there is peace in knowing that he is up in heaven with his mom, watching over us, and just waiting for us to join him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gudelia Silva and his grandomother, Agustina Silva.

His survivors include his wife, Cherisha Silva of the home; a son, Jeremy Silva and wife Sara of Justin; two daughters, Krista Hays and husband Taylor of Lubbock and Bethanie Silva of the home; his father and step-mother, Heliodoro and Antonia Silva of Pampa; a sister, Raquel Navarrete and husband Manuel of Pampa; two brothers, Venancio “Benny” Silva and wife Leticia of Friendswood, and Josue “Daniel” Silva, of Pampa; a grandson, Braxton Maul of Temple; and two granddaughters, Hollyn Hays and Brynn Hays, both of Lubbock; 7 nieces & 4 nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Ivy.
