James “Jim” Hollingwood

James “Jim” Hollingwood, 86, of Pampa passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at home.

Memorial graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 8, 2021 in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Rev Norman Rushing, pastor at Central Baptist Church, officiating.  Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Hollingwood was born on February 19, 1934 in Beggs, Oklahoma to James and Evelyn Deaton Hollingwood. Jim graduated from Beggs High School and joined the U. S. Navy. He served for four years during the Korean War and was the aide for the admiral. Jim was honorably discharged in 1961. As a teenager, he found a love for doing leatherwork and eventually became a saddle maker. He worked for Cabot Machinery as a welder, building oil rigs. Jim left Cabot in 1979 to join Pool Drilling International as an oilfield mechanic, working mostly overseas. He retired in 1999, and during retirement, he turned his love of leatherworking into a job he didn’t want to quit. Jim would design, craft, and build anything out of leather his customers wanted. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and traveling. Jim was a member of Central Baptist Church. He married Nancy Allen on November 30, 2002 in Pampa.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy of the home; four sons, James Lee Hollingwood of Tulsa, John Allen, Bill Allen and wife Jodi, and Ross Allen and wife Tammi, all of Pampa; a daughter, Shannon Jochetz and husband Mike of Krum; 12 grandchildren, Jarrett Kotara and wife Lindsay, and Haili Kotara, both of Pampa, Kyler Allen of Lubbock, Kenzie Cain and husband Dylan, Nathan Sprinkle, Erin Allen, all of Pampa, Lauren Allen of San Antonio, J. C. Allen f Lubbock, Emma Allen of Pampa, Ella Jochetz, Charlotte Jochetz and Miles Jochetz, all of Denton; and 7 great-grandchildren.
