Jerry Guinn

Jerry Guinn, 90, of Pampa passed away on August 24, 2020 in Pampa.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 28, 2020 at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, and Rev. Rick Parnell, retired Baptist minister, officiating.  Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The service will be live streamed on Central Baptist Church Face Book page. 

Jerry was born December 24, 1929 in McCamey to Everett and Lilly Mae Guinn.  He graduated from Borger High School.  He married Mary Frances Jones on March 19, 1950, they celebrated 49 years of marriage before she passed away in 1999.  Jerry was a hard worker, beginning his work career in the oilfield at the early age of 12.  In 1973 he became CEO of Serfco and continued to work there until his retirement in 1993. 

Jerry was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church where he served faithfully in many roles as deacon, and Sunday School teacher.  Jerry was a favorite bass voice ringing out in the choir and many choral productions at the church.  He was a member of API for many years.  He married Dorothy Murphy Roth on June 3, 2000.  Jerry enjoyed gardening, mowing and taking care of his lawn, and was a real handyman.  He was known as Granddad to all of his grandchildren and will be greatly missed.  He finished his race with integrity and dignity.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Louise Allensworth.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of the home; 4 daughters, Sherry Guinn of Tyler, Kari Parker and husband Mike of Houston, Terri Williams and husband Ronnie of Pampa, and Deborah Ramirez of Phoenix; son, Glen Roth and wife Phyllis of Socorro, New Mexico; brother, Gene Guinn and wife Wanda of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren, Cody Parker, Tyler Parker, Shane Williams, Seth Williams, Amy West and husband Josiah, Erin Ramirez and husband Anthony Cruz, Breanna Ramirez, Bevin Henson, Mariah Henson, Scott Ashcroft, Erin Floyd, and Tammi Norwood; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Central Baptist Church, 513 E. Francis, Pampa, Texas 79065.
