The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Joe was born on March 17, 1942, in Pampa to Nathan and Imogene Miller. After a childhood of farming life outside of Wheeler, Texas he graduated from Wheeler in 1960. He played football, took a turn at bareback riding and most importantly, met the love of his life, Dorothy Hall.  They were married on July 16, 1961, in Wheeler. Pampa became their home where Joe worked as a firefighter, at Celanese Corporation, and with his father at N.F. Miller Plumbing. Later, he was a self-employed owner and operator of Joe Miller Plumbing for many years, independently and later with his son, Clint.

Throughout almost 63 years of marriage, Joe and Dot built the biggest joy of their lives, their family. They spent many happy years at events involving their children, their grandchildren, and now their great-grandchildren (coaching and cheering on in football, baseball, basketball, softball, dance recitals, choir and band concerts - of note, he enjoyed sports the most).  Joe and Dot met their best friends and were heralded lifetime members of ESA (Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a philanthropic sorority) and Joe was often found leading the Men of ESA in the hospitality room at their annual state convention.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Clint Miller; brother, Dale Miller; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Sarah Miller; and maternal grandparents, Monroe and Vera Galmor.

Joe is survived by his wife, Dorothy Miller of the home; two daughters, Penny Jones and husband Chris, and Sarah Jordan; a sister-in-in-law, Linda Trimble and husband Dan; grandchildren, Dusti Miller and husband Shannon, Wendi Horst and husband Kevon, Keenan Jones and wife Sarah, Rebecca Shaw and husband Levi, Gavin Jimenez, Austin Jordan, Emma Fain, Abby Jordan, Tyler Jones (wife Maddie), and Bailey Jones; great grandchildren, Bensin, James, Cache, Taylor, Canon, Remington, Gavin, Hunter, Kaycee, Samuel, Grace, and Piper; nephews, Richard Smith and wife Tippi, Bubba Smith and wife Trish, and Trey Smith and wife Janna; and other extended family.
