Joyce Carson

Joyce Boaldin Carson, 83, of Pampa, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at home.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas with Lana Tomblin, niece, officiating.  Burial will be under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Hillcrest Southern Baptist Church in Elkhart, Kansas. 

Mrs. Carson was born March 14, 1937 in Elkhart, Kansas to James and Martha Zinn Boaldin.  Joyce graduated from Elkhart High School in 1955 and went to beauty school in Wichita, Kansas.  She married Edgar “Dean” Carson on November 9, 1957.  He passed away, after 52 years of Marriage, on June 12, 2009.  Joyce was a beautician in Elkhart for a few years before being a homemaker to Dean and their children.  She was a member of the Pampa V. F.W. auxiliary, a lifetime member of Rainbow Girls in Elkhart, and a Lady of the Nile in Wyoming.  Joyce was a lifetime member at First Baptist Church in Elkhart.  She enjoyed all types of gambling, embroidering, and spending time with her family.

Preceded in death by a sister, Karen Sparkman; and three brothers, James Boaldin, Johnny Boaldin and Bobby Boaldin.

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Cheri Newman of Pampa and Ladeana Dudley and husband Daniel of Pampa; a son, James "Eddie" Carson and wife Julie of Pampa; a brother, Bill Boaldin and wife Pat of Prescott, Arizona; five sisters-in-law, Wilenia Boaldin, Dixie Boaldin and Dianne Boaldin all of Elkhart, Kansas, Donna McCormick and Kathy McKinney of Gillette, Wyoming; eight grandchildren, James Marquez, Matthew Dudley and wife Angie, Latisha Baraka and husband Amged, Rebecka Dudley and husband Ricardo DeLeon, Timothy Dudley and wife Katie, Sam Newman and Stephanie Preston, Joshua James Carson all of Pampa, and Nicholas Dudley and wife Chelsey of Centennial, Colorado; and 12 great-grandchildren.
