Kane Rooney, 14, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022, in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 15, 2022 at Briarwood Church with Jamisen Hancock, pastor, and Jimmye Cole, retired Nazarene pastor, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Kane was born in Wichita Falls on July 14, 2007, to Matt Woody and Kristen Rooney. He moved to Pampa when he was four years old and attended school in Pampa. He was currently a freshman at Pampa High School. Kane had many activities that he enjoyed each day. He liked writing stories and building model cars with his uncle. He played tennis and football at school and was a part of the choir. He loved playing basketball at the Youth Center and going to the movies with his friends. Kane will be remembered as a great brother and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Kane is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Woody; maternal great-grandmother, Marlene Franklin and her husband Jim; two uncles, Gary Mays and Reese McDaniels; and one cousin, Elaine McDaniels.
He is survived by his father, Matt Woody and wife Heather of the home; mother, Kristen Rooney of Wichita Falls; six sisters, Alexis Waycaster of Pampa, Hannah Woody of Sherman, Raina Rooney of Wichita Falls, Lexi Rooney of Iowa Park, Journey Lieb of Pampa, and Bianca Woody of Pampa; three brothers, Connor Waycaster, Liam Ciesla, and Marshall Ciesla all of Pampa; paternal grandmother, Susan Phillips and husband Frank of Gordonville; maternal grandmother, Lanna Patterson and Donald Baber of Wichita Falls; maternal great-grandparents, Bill Little and wife Janet; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends.
