LeRoy E. Proctor, 86, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with, Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating.  Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The service will be livestreamed through the funeral home website. 

LeRoy was born August 26, 1936 in Delavan Lake, Wisconsin to George and Grace Proctor. He graduated from Williams Bay High School in Williams Bay, Wisconsin in 1956. After high school LeRoy attended college pursuing a degree in accounting. In August of 1960, he was drafted in the U.S. Army, serving faithfully for 6 years. He was honorably discharged in 1966. While he was in the Army, he married the love of his life, JoAnne Frazier. They were married in Delavan, Wisconsin on December 5, 1964 and she passed away on August 2, 2021. In 1975, they made their home in Pampa. LeRoy began working for Green Bay Packing Plant and worked there for a few years before going to work for Dorchester Gas Plant. LeRoy retired from the plant in 1998 after 23 years. He did not stay retired very long before he found another career. In 2000, LeRoy started driving a school bus for Pampa Independent School District and later drove the Harvester bus. His love for the Harvesters became very strong as he drove numerous teams to games for many years. He finally retired in 2020. LeRoy was a longtime member of Briarwood Church where he served as a greeter and was involved with the bus ministry and Feed the Flock. 

In his younger years, he was a very good bowler and was proud of his perfect game he bowled. He also raised sheep for many years, enjoyed gardening, and was involved in a CB Radio club. LeRoy was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packer fan and loved fantasy baseball. He and JoAnne enjoyed taking his family on trips. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Evelyn and Janet; and a brother, Richard.

Survivor include his daughter, Patti Carpenter and husband Steve of Pampa; son, Tim Proctor and wife Staci of Pampa; five grandchildren, Mark Carpenter and wife Kaylee of Keller, Brenden Carpenter and wife Adriana of Las Vegas, Nevada, Paxton Proctor of Wichita Falls, Kari Terrell of Lubbock, and Lindsey Terrell of Pampa; 7 great grandchildren, Kiarra Terrell of Arlington, Kayces Brown of Houston and Kyson Wine of Pampa, Claire Carpenter, Ruby Jean Carpenter, and Wyatt Carpenter all of Keller, and Jackson Carpenter of Las Vegas, Nevada; two great great-granddaughters, Ke’Mauri Brown and Kinsley Brown of Houston; a brother, Joseph Proctor and wife Sharon of Milan, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
